Back to 1975

So, since this is my first blog post I thought I would start of by writing about something I know a bit about, which is also recent, and tells you a little bit about me...

The 1975 have returned after a little bit of silence. Previous to this silence The 1975 were all about the black and white monochrome look; indie rock, songs about sex and drugs, and half naked performances (that no one was complaining about and I SERIOUSLY hope still continue) from front man Matt Healey.

Just sort of shows how indie rock they were

After the success of festival season for the boys there was really no doubt that they would succeed with a second album. But they seemed to just go. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that anyone heard anything from them, and what we did here was a rumour of them splitting. How fucking dare they! I swear my heart nearly died at the prospect of never seeing Matthew Healey's beautiful barnet. But it proved a trick as in the very same week they announced their upcoming tour, and brand new look...

The pink is slightly less indie rock, but whats a fan to do other than trust their judgement?

My excitement for this new tour cannot be explained for 2 very good reasons...

1) It means a new album- new music, new songs, new ambiguous lyrics, I could go on.

2) Guess what bitch got tickets!!!!

The thing that I really love about this band is the care that they take with their music. They seriously make sure that everything is exactly how they want it to be lyrically and musically. They never seem to push to get music out there and heard; it’s a slow process that involves their constant care and affection. And it really shows. There is nothing I love more than a band who loves their music and wants it to be nor only for their fans, but for them. I guess their silence can be forgiven then...

I am no musical genius, but I will say this, the indie, electronic, sort of feeling that The 1975 had going for them in their first album, is something I seriously hope is on the second.

Originality is hard to find in the music industry these days, but they seemed to have cracked it.

May indie rock see a new light, in the form of pink!

Here's a link to their official website if you want to check out more about them: http://the1975.com/

and here is one of my absolute favourite songs (which is actually a cover) that they ever did:

I hope you enjoyed my first blog, and come back to read what else I have for you!

Like and comment if you want to, I would really appreciate it

Hope you enjoyed :)
