Back to School Back to Reality

As August blends into September the summer has officially been blown away and replaced by autumn. The leaves are changing colour and our moods are quickly spiralling from the highs of summer as we become increasingly colder and wetter due to seasonal change. It’s time that we get back to reality, which means back to school, college, and university.

It’s always a daunting thought going back to school. A new year, a new class, new teachers. Just as you get used to waking up at 7am every morning and trudging into the same first period class your routine is ripped away and replaced with a new one. Not only that but you’re lie in privileges have been taken away, and there is no chance of going to the coffee shop in town with your best friends to stare at the fit barista everyday anymore. Instead you will be sat in classes, listening to a teacher drone on about something you care little for, wishing for summer to come back.

But going back to school doesn’t have to be as daunting or boring as you think. It’s a chance to become more educated (obviously) both educationally and socially. There are new opportunities to make friends, interact with teachers, and generally expand your knowledge. In today’s society it is especially important to be educated about the world and all the types of people and issues within it.

If you are still worried about going back to school/university/college here is some advice.

Don’t worry or think about it too much. Just think about it as 6 hours of the day out of 24. That’s not even half of your day at school and think of all the fun you can have with the other 18 hours of your time. Besides sleeping of course. Just try and immerse yourself in learning and think positively. And if all else fails your next break is only a few months away.

Have fun going back to school lovelies and enjoy.
