Glastonbury overview day 3

So here is my overview of the final day at Glastonbury. It had quite possibly one of the best lineups of the weekend, so lots to write about. Here it goes...

Category is golden oldie:

Who else could possibly fill the legends spot of a Sunday afternoon other than Mr Lionel Richie? The man, the myth, the absolute legend. His soul filled classics are the perfect things to listen to on a Sunday (not quite a Sunday morning but more an afternoon). Easy going, and just chill, which earned him the biggest crowd of all Glastonbury history!! 200,000 people; I don't think he needs anymore justification other than that.

Of course the whole set was a massive highlight for me, and probably every other human on the planet, but I did have some personal highlights. Of course dancing on the ceiling is one of them, absolute classic which is without saying, but also once twice three times a lady, and easy like sunday morning. You just have to at least listen to those three from his set!!!

Not only were his classic tunes a masssive hit with the crowd, who literally knew every word that came out of his mouth, but so was his outfit. For a man in his 60's he dresses like a man half his age; and TOTALY works it! Rocking an embelished black jacket, with a pair of black jeans was the perfect choice for him. Not trying too hard to look young, but not exactly looking like a 60 year old grandad pottering around the garden. 10/10 for appearance for you Lionel.

The thing that I really liked about Lionel's performance was that it was obviously a long time coming; and he knew that. But when he was singing and interacting with the crowd he was so grateful. After all his success and fame, he still remains a grounded man, and that really reflected in his performance. And the audience just loved him! Everyone loves him! Who can't love him?? There was nobody better that Glastonbury could have picked to fill the legends spot than ol Lionel Richie.

Category is my new found act:

My final new found act for Glastonbury 2015 is Prides. They are a synthpop band from Glasgow, whose upbeat tunes have already earned them a great success, and they are just starting. One of the first times they were on TV was when they played at the Commonwealth closing ceremony in 2014; just shows how amazing they are if they are part of the closing ceremony for their country's games.

On the John Peel stage they were probably one of the best. Their energetic tunes set the tent full of good vibes, and their dancy tunes had everyone moving. Definite highlight was Messiah, so I really think you should check them out.

Category is top 3:

My first act in my top three is hozier. A contrast to Prides, but still a really good act. The way I would describe hozier is retro cool, with great hair, and intense songs. I never really would have pegged him for a good Glastonbury performance to be honest just because he is such an intense act, but I was proven wrong. Granted he has the dark and intense moments (take me to church), but he also has the odd upbeat and dancy one as well. The mixture from slow to upbeat really made his performance for me, and I was really surprised that he managed to pull off such an epic set. Plus his cover of Ariana Grande's one less problem, was to die for!!!! But the most amazing thing from his set for me was his super cool red box guitar. So retro and vintage cool, if he wants to hook me up with one he can?!

My second act for my top three is one of my favourite act of all time Twin Atlantic. I have already been to see them, so know that they are amazing live, but watching them at Glastonbury just re-affirmed how incredible they are as a band, as well as performers. Unfortunately they did have a slot at the same time as Lionel, so obviously their crowd wasn't as big as I knew it would've been if they were on before or after the legend. Nevertheless they still put on an amazing show. Their rock and roll style is to die for, like Sam Mctrusty's face and Ross Mcnae's beard. They aren't just one of those bands that sing about sex either, they sing about real issues, which is new and refreshing. Overall a top band, who were just unlucky to get the same slot as Lionel.

My final act in the top 3 is the comeback kid Jamie T. His recent return to the music industry has done nothing but thrill myself and his other fans. He has a slightly new style which consists of a little more singing then he used to do, but is still incredible. The thing I loved most about his set was that he hadn't changed. He was still the lad in a mac and white shirt, with his unique sound and music style. His mixture of singing and rapping is so interesting and catchy that he it makes him an all rounder. I could not be happier that he has returned to the music industry, and judging by his Glasto set this is not the last time we will see him. He completely owned Glasto with his mixture of old and new songs, and I can sincerely say that it was one of my favourite sets from, not only the day, but from the whole weekend.

Category is headliner:

Sunday night's headliner was arguably the best headliner they have booked for a while. The Who. I am not even going to write anything about their set, all I will say is that you HAVE to go and watch it...
