So, this weekend is one of the biggest music festivals in Britain, and one of my personal favourites, T In The Park. Similar to my Glastonbury posts I will post every day for the next 3 days about my thoughts on some of the bands that are playing. But I know that my Glastonbury ones were kind of long, because I tries to cram SO much into them, so instead I am only going to be talking about 1 or 2 acts in each post. So here it goes....
The headliners for the opening day of any festival are, in my opinion, the most important. The have to set the mood for the main stage, and make sure that everyone is pumped, and ready, for the weekend ahead. And nobody could fill that slot better than Kasabain!
Now I have been fortunate enough to have already seen Kasabian play live at their little summer festival last year in Leicester. And they are one of the best bands to come out of British rock and roll in the last 20 years. They are an incredible band, who use music influences from all genres, and mix them to produce music that the masses appreciate and love.
Kasabian have been to T more than once since their beginning in 1997, in fact they have headlined 3 times, but I think this was one of their best! I absolutely adore their most recent album 48:13, and I believe that as they as a band have developed and matured, so has their music. It just has this rich quality to it that you don't find in just any old band. It's something truly special.
Their T set was perfect for the Friday opener because the tunes were endless. Every single song they performed was sung word perfect by the crowd, who completely adored them and worshipped their idols on stage. They performed the perfect mix of new and old tunes, which is ideal for a festival, and each one was performed with vigour and endless amounts of energy.
Words can literally not describe how much I fucking love this band. They are by far one of the best bands of my generation. Not only because of their music but because of their style. I mean their band tops are so nice I want one with every phrase on it! Plus nothing looks better than guitarist Serge with a hat on, let's all be real.
So all in all Kasabian were perfection. For me, for the crowd, and possibly even for you, bets are if you like their indie sound you're in there. I would 100% recommend giving their set a listen, and looking at all the other performers for Friday night. Here is the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/e8phn3

I hope you enjoyed my little piece about Kasabian, who were my #1 band for Friday at T In The Park. Check out tomorrows post to see who will be my #1 for Saturday...
