So before I start my actual post I just want to apologise for my lateness. I know I normally post every Friday and it’s now Monday, so I’m really sorry, but still I hope you enjoy my post…
This week I thought that I would let you into a little idea I have had for during the summer. Since I, like a lot of students do, have a long 6/7 week summer it is quite easy to forget the things that you have done, as well as start to feel like you’ve wasted your time off. This can result in you feeling really down, and negative about yourself. I know because I get like this as well. So this year, to prevent myself from feeling these things I have bought a normal jam jar, and every time I do something positive I’m putting it in the jar. My aim is to look back on all my jam jar notes whenever I’m feeling down, or at the end of the summer, so that I can look back and think I didn’t waste my time.
I know it’s probably going to be hard to distinguish what you should and shouldn’t put in, but to be honest I am going to do it by if I enjoyed myself, it’s going in.
I have only been off for a week, but I will give you a little taster of some things that I have already put in my jam jar. Here we go…
1) Firstly I have been out for lunch with my sister. I have been to prezzos and spent a few hours just eating and catching up with her. Even though it seems like something quite trivial, probably something that a lot of people already do, going out and just chilling with someone you love is a great thing to think about when you’re feeling down.

2) Another thing is going out for drinks. In my case it was a BBQ and drinks with family friends, but whatever type of drinking you do put it in! When you go out and socialise with other people, whether you know them or not, it makes you feel so much better in yourself, just knowing that people are enjoying your company as much as you are enjoying theirs. Having a cheeky drink out with people will make you feel a lot better, and when you look back on your note (sober) the things you did that night will probably make you feel embarrassed but more than anything grateful for the time you spent out (even if you can’t fully remember everything that happened and there are some regrets!)

3) Finally I have had the opportunity to go to a local horse show. I adore horses, and because my friend keeps hers at a local stable I was able to go along. Obviously I know everyone can’t flock to a horse show (some of you probably don’t even like horses) but still going on days out similar to that is really good. I managed to have a completely new experience and it was amazing. I met new people and got up close and personal with an animal I don’t experience every day which was great. I know for sure that when I look back on that day in my jam jar I will definitely feel like my holiday wasn’t wasted.

So there you go. I know that there are only three things there, and some of you probably aren’t interested in them, but it will just give you an idea of things to include. I generally think it will benefit me, and I hope if you chose to do it, you will benefit from it to.
I hope you enjoyed my post, and I pinkie promise next week I will attempt to post on time! :-)
