Makeup Favorites

So, this week I thought I would do a makeup favourites with my two new favourite makeup essentials. So here we go…

The first of my two favourites is the Maybelline New York colour drama lip pencil.

For my birthday I got the red essential shade, and then loved it so much I just had to go out and buy another- I chose nude perfection. I absolutely love these pencils because they are just so easy to use. Because it’s a pencil and not a wax the shape of your lips is easier to paint and then fill in then if a simple lipstick were being used. I have found that this means my face gets in less of a mess because I don’t end up with lipstick stains everywhere.

I just find it so easy to use, plus it feels a lot less heavy on your lips than most lipsticks, which tend to feel waxier than this pencil does. This long lasting lipstick is easy to use, feels natural, and at only £4.99 per stick it’s not breaking the bank for a sickening look.

You can also find these in more shades including a very cute Barbie pink colour (the shade I think I’ll be getting next). I would seriously recommend them, especially if you’re sick of using lipstick.

Here is a link to the boots website incase you want to check out some of the shades/pricing:http://www.boots.com/en/Maybelline-Color-Drama-Lipstick_1505296/

The second of my two favourites is the Revolution eyeshadow pallets.

At only £4 per pallet I would say for people starting out with makeup, or wanting to experiment with some new eye shades and shapes these are ideal.

Per pallet you get 12 different shades that all complement one another, with each pallet being different. Personally I have the day to night pallet as well as the mermaids Vs unicorns one. I tend to use my day to night pallet during the day when I am going out or going to work or school as the colours are a lot more neutral and less heavy than the other pallets. If I am going out and want a slightly darker more intense look than I use my mermaids Vs unicorn pallet which has a mixture of bluey greens, purples, and darker blues and blacks.

There are plenty of other pallets to fit every style including an acid brights pallet for those more daring. I would say they are similar to the Naked Pallets but if you don’t fancy spending thirty odd quid then go for a Revolution.

I am very much looking forward to purchasing the rest of their eyeshadows, however if you are just starting out and want to try with more natural shades I would choose either the original day to night pallet or the second one.

Here is the superdrug website so that you can check out the rest of the pallets:http://www.superdrug.com/Make-Up/Eyes/Eye-Shadow-Palettes/c/pt_make_up_eye_shadow_palettes?q=%3Aname-asc%3Abrand%3A408001%3Abrand%3A412007%3ApriceValue%3A%5B2+TO+4%5D&text=&minSel=2&maxSel=4&minSlider=2.0&maxSlider=12.0&resultsForPage=20#

So there you go, a little insight into my two new favourite makeup pieces. I hope you enjoyed this post, and I will post again next week :)
