The Perfect Dinner

MERRY BLOGMAS DAY 22!!!!

The nearer we’re getting to the big day the more we start thinking about the big dinner so to get us all just that little bit more excited about it, here is what my ideal Christmas dinner looks like…

The Starter- And so we start at the beginning. Either a simple prawn cocktail or garlic mushrooms sits well with us at the Russell household, however sometimes a little something different is in order. A basic salad perhaps, for those who don’t want to fill up before the big game. Alternatively, try some pate, or go slightly up market with some calamari.

The Main Event- It’s the big one, and everyone’s excited so what do we begin with? Obvs the turkey. People who don’t have turkey leave right now because this is an only turkey zone. Next the veg- I’m talking peas, broccoli, not only cauliflower but cauliflower cheese, carrots, and of course the favourite of all the veg; roasted parsnips. Of course you have to take into account your potatoes; roasted, boiled, mashed? What do you want? For me I want my two favourites, roast and mash, because it’s Christmas and why not? And finally you have to top it off with a massive Yorkshire- it wouldn’t be Christmas without one!!!!

And here is the end- And now the meal is drawing to a close and there is more than one way to perfectly end it. If you’re looking for something festive go for the classic Christmas pudding, mince pie or, my personal favourite, Yule log. If not why not indulge in a chocolate fudge cake, or Pavlova? Don’t worry if Christmas pudding isn’t your favourite dessert (to be honest who really even likes it?) because there is so much more for you to enjoy.

So there’s my perfect Christmas meal, now what’s yours?
