Weight watching March

Weight Update: So it’s the first of March and time for me to review last month and make goals for this one. I’ve only lost a pound since February, which isn’t great, but still a loss I suppose. It was a hard month for me though and so I wasn’t expecting miracles, but I’m feeling so much more positive about March!!

Being a weight watcher (not in the club though) I’m constantly checking the scales at least twice a week to see if I’ve lost any weight. All this does is encourage bad habits- if you haven’t lost any weight, or even gained some, you indulge in unhealthy activities that usually mean eating less and starving yourself, or, if you have lost weight, you don’t try as hard for the rest of the week. Either way you lose, and not in the way you want to.

So this month I’m going to try and not look at the scales at all. I’ve weighed myself today, and won’t be stepping back on those scales until April 1st. Hopefully this will stop me obsessing with my weight, and finally allow me to just be healthy, with a positive result at the end.

My hope is to lose 5 pounds by the end of March, and if I do then I may try and continue the trend throughout my weight loss. I’m not going to change my diet or exercise routine, just see whether my constant scale gazing is preventing me from reaching my full weight loss potential. Let’s hope it doesn’t go drastically wrong…
