March Favourites

It feels like it was only a mere four weeks ago since we last did this…

Making a murderer: So my first favourite is something that has (surprise surprise) been on Netflix for a while now but I’ve only just started to watch- making a murderer. In a nutshell it’s a documentary series that follows the ongoing case of Steven Avery who was wrongly accused of sexual assault in 1985, which he served eighteen years for, before getting out and being jailed again in 2006 for murder. It’s a really intense watch, and probably something I will post about once I’ve finished it, but is definitely worth it purely down to seeing the injustice in the world and the corruption of law enforcement. It’s a programme that has divided all Netflix watches- so watch the show and pick your side #FreeStevenAvery

Trainers: A bit of a jump from a murder trial based documentary, but trainers are still something that I have loved in March. I have never been a great lover of trainers in the past because I always associated them with chav culture, but my opinion has completely changed this month and I see myself wearing them all the time. Because I walk around a lot I found that my feet were beginning to become easily blistered and sore from wearing boots, a problem soon tackled by everyone’s secret best friend the trainer. Now I can walk around all day without the risk of one blister! GENIUS!

Peach Schnapps: So a bit unconventional but here we go. When prinking (pre-drinking) I find myself drinking an array of concoctions which end with me A) being sick, B) being very drunk, and/or C) making an absolute mess of myself. Since I started drinking peach schnapps I’ve found myself getting mildly buzzed enough to have some fun, but not so drunk that I can’t go out. Plus the fresh taste of peach is refreshing in a girl’s mouth and leaves no bitter aftertaste- result.

False nails: Like trainers I had never been a big fan of false nails, always thinking I could grow my own and make them look just as good- FALSE. But one day I just decided to give them a try on a whim and fucking loved them. They not only meant I didn’t have to paint my nails for the week, but they also made my fat fingers look longer, and provided me with nails ample for scratching with. Although some of them are fragile and don’t last very long (*cough* Primark *cough*) I would definitely recommend trying them at least once, even if just for when your next going out, because you will definitely notice the difference.

RuPaul’s Drag Race: New Drag Race started this month and lord knows I love a drag queen! Already they’ve sang acapella (swoon), been part of 80’s new wave bands, and performed in Empire. These queens may not be the fishiest this season, but they definitely have the most personality- do I detect a future plan for a drag profile post?! My bets are on the final three to be Bob The Drag Queen (comedy, fashion, and sass), Thorgy Thor (comedy, dreadlocks, and laughs), and Acid Betty (Look, fashion, all T all shade). Pretty much shaping up to be the shadiest, but fiercest, season of them all- well done miss RuPaul.
