Guess who has woken up from hibernation and is getting back into the full swing of blogging again? ME!

I know I’ve been awful recently and not blogged since my Reading post (sigh at the PGD) and I’m so sorry for that, but here is exactly why it’s been that long.

After Reading I had only a couple of weeks to prepare for the biggest change of my life- I was moving away from home and to the big city. That’s right I am now a fully-fledged London girl and loving life.

So as you can imagine I was pretty panicked before I made my move to the city of my dreams- me, small town girl Isla Russell, moving to one of, if not the, best cities in the world, and I had no clue what I was getting myself into. So naturally I was doing more stressing and less blogging.

But it turns out I had absolutely nothing to stress about at all. Moving to London has been the most exhilarating, fascinating, and admittedly sometimes terrifying, experience of my life. I am now one of those many millions of people who move to the big city to peruse their dreams of a better life in a city that (trust me) literally never stops moving.

For the first few weeks I was here it was all about exploring. You can’t move just under 100 miles away from arguably one of the most boring places you could live (sorry but it’s true) to the big city and not want to do some exploring and typical touristy things. So the first month I was here was spent getting lost on the tube, getting lost on the streets, and getting lost in general. The thing with London is that getting lost is easy, and it’s one of the most terrifying thing about living here- so many people crowded in one area and they all seem to know where they’re going except from you. Mix in the fact that it starts to get darker earlier and you may find yourself immersed in the dodgy side of the city can make for a terrifying time. But the great thing about London is that there is always transport available and ready to get you home. A quick bus ride, or an even faster trip on the underground, will get you from lost and lonely to safely in the confines of the area of London you know.

So it’s safe to say the reason I’ve been missing blog dates is because of my new relationship with the city and the life it’s given me. But worry not, because it’s time for me to begin sharing my time with my great love with you all.

I have met so many amazing people while I’ve been here and made the most wonderful friendships already it’s time to get you involved. I want you to go on this wonderful adventure with me, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I’m sure I will.
