Forget hit the road Jack because last night (17th November 2016) Joe and Caspar hit the red carpet to promote their newest film documentary Joe and Caspar Hit The Road USA.
Turning up to the red carpet I was definitely feeling mixed emotions- there was no doubt that I was beyond excited because I had never been to a movie premier before, but the thought of meeting people I had only ever viewed through my computer screen for 3 years was nerve wracking. Nevertheless I was there, up against a barrier, surrounded by 12 year old girls, and ready to speak to some YouTubers.
I will break it to you now I didn’t see Joe and Caspar. An absolute joke I know considering this is there movie premier review, but what’s a girl to do when she has to get on a tube to get there and she had a cheeky Nandos beforehand?
Having just missed Joe and Caspar’s circuit round the carpet I have to admit I was disappointed, but that disappointment was soon evaporated when a high pitched scream from the young girl next to me announced the arrival of, in my opinion, the funniest group of YouTubers. Buttercream were making their entrance.
First to grace us with his presence was Mr Jack Maynard- the Buttercream

fittie. With his blonde hair perfectly swept to the side, and adorning a jacket of only the finest leather and his signature cheeky grin it was no surprise that all the 12 year old girls (and maybe even this 18 year old blogger) went weak at the knees at the sight of him- how fucking fangirl typical of me. As he approached I knew I had to say something other than just ‘can I have a picture’, which he had probably heard a hundred times over in the short time he had been there, so as he approached me I wracked my brains for the smartest thing to say. In the end I decided on something we could mutually agree on- tattoos. My choice words, after ‘hello, how are you, I’m good thanks’ were ‘I love your skull tattoo’. And with a cheeky grin and a ‘thanks’ from him we took my favourite selfie of the night and he progressed down the carpet. Swoon.

After Jack came everyone’s favourite ginger member of Buttercream Josh Pieters. Wearing probably the most formal wear out of the group in a black shirt, blazer, and slim fit trousers, it was hard to miss this fiery haired giant of a man as he walked the carpet. Shouting him over and, of course, asking for a picture that he had to take because there was no way my arm could stretch to fit us both in, I was, again, wracking my brains for something clever to say. Just as he was walking away I thought of the thing he is most famous on YouTube for, besides being Caspar’s friend, and told him to try and stay awake for 100 hours. If he uses that as his next video I want you all to know that was my idea and I will sue if I don’t get a mention.
And then came the most adorable member of the gang, with a massive grin

on his face, and looking over-joyed to even be invited to the premier let alone have hundreds of girls screaming for his attention- it could only be the Lord, LP, Mikey Pierce. As he made his way down the carpet I didn’t have the same sense of panic as I did with the previous two members. As he approached I knew exactly what I was going to say to him- ‘you’re sketches are the most hilarious things I’ve watched on YouTube’. And with those words his grin grew and he seemed so eternally grateful for the words I had said that I couldn’t not take a picture with him- The Lord.
Of course you had other YouTuber’s gracing the carpet. You couldn’t miss the high pitched wails and screams of delight when Alfie Deyes waltzed down the carpet, and even though seeming slightly rude and uninterested Tanya Burr was looking beautiful as ever.
Regardless of not seeing Joe and Caspar for my first red carpet event it didn’t go too bad. If you want to check out my periscope videos head to my journalism twitter page @journalismisla and don’t forget to give me a cheeky follow.
