My OBSESSIONS

So I know that everyone will currently be doing their June favourites, but I thought that I’d do something a little bit different. I would like to share with you all the things that I have been obsessed with for the last half of the year.

Peaky Blinders: This is kind of a recent find for me. My sister has been trying to get me to watch Peaky Blinders FOREVER but I just wasn’t interested. That was until I ran out of things to watch and just stuck it on one day. What began as something to just fill a silent void turned into a full on obsession. I only started watching it 2 weeks ago and I’m already on the third season. 1920’s Birmingham gangsters, Cillian Murphy, suits, and whiskey makes this series completely binge worthy. Just make sure that you concentrate when you’re watching the episodes so you don’t miss ANYTHING. Watch seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix and season 3 on Amazon Prime.

Brickwood Cafe: I recently moved from my uni halls in Elephant & Castle and into a house in Tooting. Other than for house viewings I had never been to Tooting and wasn’t overly familiar with the area when I first moved here three weeks ago. However, one day when I was out exploring with my house mate we stumbled across one of Tooting’s many markets which was filled with cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops. Tucked away in the corner of the market was Brickwood Coffee and Bread. A quaint little café which sells home brewed coffee and home baked bread to accompany their brunch options. With seats and tables made of matching wood, and their naked lights hanging from the ceiling it’s no wonder they have an illuminous sign declaring ‘Award Winning Brunch’. I would definitely suggest getting the smashed avocado and green mimosa.

Jeremy Corbyn: As I am sure a vast majority of the population will agree with me Jeremy Corbyn has been the Labour parties saviour. He campaigned ruthlessly in the lead up to the general election earlier this month and won the labour party 20 seats. But the real reason I am obsessed with Jeremy Corbyn is because he managed to inspire millennials to engage with political debates and use their vote to begin change. Finally we have a politician who is truly supportive of the younger generation rather than the rich middle and upper class. Long live Jeremy Corbyn!

Festival season: Of course with it being summer (supposedly) festival season is in full swing and I am already obsessed. Muddy fields and air that’s pungent with only the finest spice as thousands of people sit on the shoulders of thousands more while watching the back of heads who are watching legends of music perform. Short shorts paired with rain coats and wellies, and more glitter than a rainbow unicorn can handle. Whether you’re more Reading and Leeds or more V-festival, there is a music festival for everyone to enjoy. What’s even better is that you don’t even have to be stuck in the mud to enjoy it! The best festivals are available to watch live via the BBC so you can stay at home in the warmth and enjoy the music rather than traipsing across the UK! WINNER!

So there are just a handful of my obsessions right now. What are you obsessed with? Comment below!
